I’ve been using the Automatic Article Submitter software program for about 3 months now and I’m writing this Article Submitter review to share the strengths and weaknesses of the article submission software, so that you can make an informed decision about whether it’s worth your money and time.Your first challenge is persisting through the setup process. It takes some time to initially setup this article marketing system and learn how to use it, but it is well WORTH THE EFFORT, so keep that in mind as I cover the challenges of the program. The training videos give great information that provide you key points to maximize your effectiveness, so be sure to watch them, but I will warn you that listening to Milan the programmer SLOWLY describe the details of the system made me want to scream.I admit that I’m a ‘just the facts’ kind of person, but you will understand what I mean when you watch the videos.Your second challenge is taking the time to setup all of the article directory accounts. There’s over 300 different article submission sites in the database, which is AMAZING.I mean think about that… Every time you write an article, it can be published on hundreds of article directory sites. It has a Mass Register feature that sets up your accounts automatically with most of the article directories, and that is a HUGE TIME SAVER. But you will need to manually setup some of the accounts too and this can take some time. The time taken to setup the system pays multiple dividends later when you submit your article. The system allows you to organize the articles directories into ‘Site Groups’ for your different campaigns. Most article directories cover a wide variety of topics so that you can submit any type of article to them, but others are more focused.Yes, Google likes to see links to your web site, but they them better when they come from a site that has relevant content. For example, you wouldn’t want to submit an article on automotive parts to a health and wellness article directory. So Site Groups let you TARGET YOUR AUDIENCE and provide more relevant back links to your site.It allows you to setup different pen names, so that you can position yourself correctly for different campaigns.Say that you have one campaign for nutrition products and another for automotive products. When writing an article, you want the reader to be able to find out more information about you and that information should be congruent with the article topic, so you would have one pen name for the nutrition articles and one for the automotive articles. And you can have other people who write articles for you, under that same account, so they would need their own pen name.Article Submitter has an ARTICLE SPINNER option. Here’s one of the most amazing features…It you’re going to submit an article to hundreds of directories, you don’t really want the articles to all be exactly the same, because Google will see that as duplicate content. It takes some time to setup the article spinner for each article, but it’s worth it because when it submits the articles, different variations are automatically created. This makes them appear different to the search engines, which may result in you getting several top ranked listings. The last step is submitting the articles. Some article directories will accept AUTOMATIC submissions from Article Submitter, which is a HUGE time saver. Others will have to be placed manually. The great part is that even in ‘manual mode’, to submit an article you just click a button and the program wills automatically log into the article directory for you and INSERT ALL OF THE ARTICLE CONTENT on their online forms, so that all you have to do is confirm the entry and it’s done. These submit article features will save you so much time, that you can SPEND YOUR TIME MORE EFFECTIVELY in writing more articles to generate more traffic to your web site.Article Submitter SummaryIf your goal is to drive traffic to your web site, this is a valuable tool in your arsenal. You’ll want to use it consistently to generate enough traffic and backlinks to move your site up the search engine rankings. Each article you submit creates a path to your website and the more paths you create, the more ways there are for people to reach your website.Over time, as you build enough paths, they will help your site get ranked in search results, which acts like a highway of traffic to your site.

Automotive Recyclers all across the state of New York have been helping this state protect its citizens and its environment for the past several years by participating in a program instituted by the United States Environmental Protection Agency. This program is the National Vehicle Mercury Switch Recovery Program. This program is a unique collaboration between environmental organizations, automobile manufacturers and automotive recycling facilities to recover up to 90% of the mercury switches that were used in automobiles up until the year 2003.

Mercury auto switches were used in convenience lighting, antilock braking systems and some air bag sensor components. It has been estimated that there may be as many as 40 million mercury switches in vehicles, which are still in use.

Beginning in August of 2006, the Environmental Protection Agency and End of Life Vehicle solutions have worked in conjunction with New York automotive recyclers to recover as many of these mercury switches as is possible.

Mercury switches have been prohibited in the state of New York since January 1, 2008. According to the New York State Environmental Conservation Law article 27, Title 21, Mercury-added Consumer Products, section 27-2107(7) states: On or after January first, two thousand eight, no person shall sell, offer for sale or distribute any mercury switch or mercury relay individually or as a product component Cost effective, non-mercury replacement switches exist which use a ball bearing in place of liquid mercury to trigger the electrical connection.

The necessity to ensure that as many mercury containing switches as possible is related to the toxicity associated with mercury when consumed by humans. Mercury is a particularly toxic substance that can affect the brain and nervous system. Small children and pregnant women are particularly affected by mercury in the environment. Removing and recycling these mercury switches from vehicles before they are crushed and processed and recycling prevents the mercury from being released into the environment.

New York auto recyclers are taking an active role in making sure that the mercury that has been used in automobiles does not end up in New Yorks rivers and lakes where it contaminates the fish and wildlife. Eating mercury-contaminated fish is the primary route of exposure for most people. The problem has become bad enough in the state of New York that the New your State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued multiple health warnings for New York residents about the amount of consumption of fish. Dangerous mercury levels in fish in some lakes and streams could lead to a negative impact on tourism from people traveling from out of state to fish in New Yorks popular streams and lakes.

The national Vehicle Mercury Switch Recovery Program is committed to assisting auto recyclers in New York and nationwide by ensuring that auto salvage facilities do not have to bear any of the financial burden for any of the costs associated with storing, shipping and processing the mercury convenience switches they remove from the vehicles they process.

Historically, sheet metal stamping has been used extensively to produce automotive body panels. Although sheet metal stamping use has decreased with the advent of fiberglass body panels, sheet metal stamping is still the most popular material for manufacturing automobiles today. The addition of lasers and robotics to the automobile manufacturing process has further expanded the way that sheet metal stamping is processed.

Lasers

Lasers have been used in production facilities since the 1960′s. Today, they are used to cut, form holes, engrave, weld or heat treat sheet metal stamping for use in automotive production.

Lasers are used in applications that rely on precise measurements and exact alignments.

The adjustment of lasers is measured in micrometers, or millionths of a meter.

There are many different types of lasers used to alter sheet metal stamping and plastics in the automotive industry.

Carbon dioxide laser- uses a mixture of carbon dioxide, nitrogen and helium to produce a continuous laser output

Continuous-wave laser- this type of laser produces light beams continuously rather than in controlled pulses

Excimer laser-emits light in a UV spectrum that is used for producing high quality edges on parts that are prone to cracking or thermal damage; it falls into the category of pulsed-gas lasers

Gas laser-any laser that uses a gas mixture as the lasing medium; common gases are argon and carbon dioxide

Pulsed laser-emits light in controlled pulses and is preferred for thin materials ; it can be used to create intricate details and work in tight corners without burning

Ruby laser-a solid state laser that uses a synthetic ruby crystal with a chromium impurity as the lasing medium

Solid-state laser-a type of laser that uses a crystal or glass as the host for an impurity to produce the lasing action; especially useful for precise measuring and spot welding

Yttrium aluminum garnet (YAG) laser-ranges in power from a few milliwatts to more than 400 watts; used for cutting, drilling, heat treating and welding operations

Robotics

Robotics are often used for repetitive tasks, monotonous jobs or those parts of the manufacturing process that are physically difficult or take place in environmentally unpleasant conditions. They are directed by computer programs and perform precise operations without human intervention.

Lasers and robotics have significantly increased the speed at which sheet metal stamping can be processed in the automotive manufacturing process. Continued technological advancements in these two areas will further increase the cost effectiveness and productivity of automotive manufacturing facilities.

Would you like to make “I’m a rambling wreck from Georgia Tech and a heck of a heck of an engineer” a reality in your life? Have you always enjoyed tinkering around with cars and figuring out what made stuff work? Does being a team player developing products that are the cutting edge of technology appeal to you? Then automotive engineering might be the career for you.
Generally, an automotive engineer is one who works on the design or manufacture of automobiles. The word design is slightly misleading since an automotive designer is a stylist basically concerned with the appearance of the automobile while the engineer specializes in the performance of the automobile and its components.
The engineer works on developing new or improved structural parts, engines, transmissions and suspension systems. The engineer is involved in production cost estimation, reduction of production costs and implementing cost/quality control improvements. The engineer must be sure that the product meets all federal regulations. In the case of new designs, it is the engineer who determines driveability.
According to the U.S. Department of Labor Dictionary of Occupational Titles, automotive engineering is a sub-specialty of mechanical engineering.
Even though the automotive manufacturing industry is in a slump at this time, there is still a demand for engineers due to the current focus on fuel economy and alternate fueled vehicles. The field is expected to grow as fast as average through 2014.
While there are global opportunities for automotive engineers in countries as far flung as Malaysia and the United Kingdom, most jobs within the US are centered in the Midwest since that is the major location of the auto industry. The big three employers in the United States are Ford, General Motors and Daimler-Chrysler.
The working environment is a combination of office and on site. The entry-level salary starts at around $48,000 annually and a Bachelor of Science degree is required. In addition to the degree, the engineer should have excellent communication skills, strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
As with any engineering degree, the choice of a college is crucial. While all engineering colleges are selective, the better and the best are even more so.
One characteristic you need to look for in a college is the quality of instruction. Are all the classes taught by professional teachers and not graduate assistants? Do these teachers have industry connections? Is simulation and hands-on an integral part of the program?
Does the college offer internships or work study opportunities? Internships and work-study are very important as they offer a path to instant employment upon graduation. The same is true of having instructors with industry connections. It also doesn’t hurt to consider a college that offers advanced degrees in the event you decide to go further than a bachelor’s degree.
To ensure admission to the college of choice, a high school graduate should have a high GPA with a strong background in calculus, advanced math, statistics, physics, chemistry and geometry. Vocational classes in automotive mechanics are also helpful. It will also be necessary to score high on whatever college admissions test the school requires as the admissions committee will base their decision on both your high school record and admissions test scores.

Smart phone applications or ‘applications’ market, has become the core of the global technology industry, the war situation, a large number of device manufacturers, wireless service providers and software developers have in order to share in this fast growing market and strive to fighting against brain.

Now, the war and gradually spread to the automotive market. In September 2009 organized by the Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA), BMW (BMW), Nokia (Nokia), and Parrot SA demonstrated their smart phones in the car to achieve the application in different ways.

The global automotive industry is entering a new era, OEM, suppliers and software developers who are exploring a variety of innovative and unique approach in order to use smart phones to cars.

For motorists, the application to enable them to fully enjoy the benefits of infotainment systems, but only the application you want to pay ? ? This allows them to save money. With the application of such importance in the automotive market on the rise, this industry is that the companies are also trying to promote that can allow them to profit methods. Although this year’s IAA show in solution are mostly concept, but these concepts will no doubt follow soon.

Automotive industry’s practice of BMW at the IAA in the launch of the latest ConnectedDrive: BMW concept store applications. This concept store offers a variety of different applications, users can download through a car or home computer to their iDrive, then these applications and then transferred to the car. The current concept store applications include a variety of multimedia tourist guides, from Merian, Geowiki, a variety of games, Internet radio, podcasts, Facebook, XING, and Twitter account. BMW concept store application also allows users to transmit data to navigation systems and mobile phones.

Mobile solutions The leading mobile phone maker Nokia’s recent acquisition of map supplier Navteq company and IAA on the release of its automotive application of concepts. Nokia’s approach is more mobile devices and vehicle integration, rather than launch the application. But it is not just a simple iPod connection or Bluetooth connection, contrast, Nokia introduced a cable, can a complete smart phone or other device to send power to the car.

Nokia Research Center is developing a show, you can connect to mobile phones and car audio main body (headunit) cable. Claimed that such connections can be displayed in the car headunit all the phone functions, but also allows users to voice, touch screen, or any human-machine interface control. Users can use their familiar interface ? ? exactly the same with their mobile phone interface. In addition, since headunit is usually connected to the vehicle Control Area Network (CAN) bus, therefore, Nokia is also planning to let the exchange between mobile devices and car number of automotive information, such as the display of fuel level or map-based advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) alerts. Although the Nokia demonstrated this cable, however, it is learned that the development of the system will operate via Bluetooth.

The show also used the Magneti Marelli headunit, but Nokia said it also can be used for any headunit and any mobile devices.

Supplier program Parrot wireless equipment suppliers in the IAA launched an Android-Java-based new headunit. The company’s FC6100 module allows vehicles to perform all of the smart phone features. It is said that his headunit itself, including hands-free Bluetooth can support A2DP audio streaming, non-specific personnel speech recognition, multimedia, connectivity, smart track browsing and playback management, 3G + Web browsing, as well as 3.0 Wi – Fi and Bluetooth.

All of these features are quite attractive, but the most interesting point, this is Android / Java-based operating system (OS). Android / Java operating system for the OEM provides easy-to-customize user interface, as well as a vast open-source community development resources. In fact, the adoption of Android smart phone applications developed can also be used for this module. Developers do not have to be developed for the automotive. This means that hundreds of applications are already available for the module.

An application to open the site to fight the battle Displayed at the IAA on a variety of application solutions for both the automotive OEM who has brought a number of innovative thinking.

For the desire to control content do not want to worry about new hardware must be installed on the car manufacturers, BMW’s solution is most appropriate. If you want to provide customers with OEM manufacturers can achieve more connectivity, more flexible hardware solution, then the most suitable for Parrot. If you want to design changes for the OEM to provide at least, the most economical solution, then the Nokia connection method may provide the answer.

No matter what the car manufacturers to choose method, the future car will be more accessible to mobile applications. Although the IAA best show only the concept of how to achieve these goals, however, to realize these solutions, but sooner or later only.

Human Machine Interfaces, or HMIs, traditionally consist of multiple systems which allow drivers to interact with their vehicle. In today’s automotive designs, the HMI also displays any feedback from the vehicle to the driver. This interaction begins the instant one unlocks the car door, continues while driving, and ends the moment the driver gets out and locks the car. It involves the optimal balance of the driver’s sensory inputs to make the driving experience both safe and enjoyable. Some of the more commonly recognized HMI system modules for enhancing the driver’s experience are keyless entry, power seats control, side mirror control, occupant detection, and most importantly, the vehicles center stack where the majority of human-machine interactions take place.

Today, more and more companies are venturing to introduce technologies one would expect to be consumer electronics features into vehicles. In addition, the HMI is being extended to allow drivers to control and access personal electronics devices, from cell phones to mp3 players, through the car’s infotainment system.

How drivers interact with these systems is also changing as mechanical buttons give way to capacitive touch inputs, resistive touch screens to capacitive touch screens, standard bulbs to high brightness LEDs, and standard color to color mixing solutions.

The automotive industry is going through a Human Machine Interface revolution that continues to change the way drivers and passengers interact with their cars. Looking back at some of the new products introduced during the past few years, and knowing what exists in the development pipeline, one can, with some confidence, project what features drivers might be able to select from when buying a new car.

One challenge the automotive market faces is how quickly it can adopt and adapt to these new technologies. Today, semiconductor companies offer a wide range of automotive qualified products with integrated development tools to empower automotive system designers to design-in, test, optimize, and launch designs one might otherwise only see in the consumer electronics arena. Capacitive touch technology, for example, offers flexibility and a high level of customization, enabling automotive designers to merge new features with already existing mechanical designs for functionality enhancement, button replacement, touchpad input device, capacitive touch screens, proximity sensing, or a combination thereof.

****Based on Cypress PSoC family of mixed signal array products, CapSense expands the standard analog programmability of PSoC by providing a flexible and cost effective means for implementing capacitive sensing, proximity detection, and capacitive touch screens on a single chip. Scope of integration depends on product used and internal chip resources available. http://www.cypress.com/psoc

Button Enhancement

Button enhancement refers to the use of capacitive sense technology to complement or expand the functionality of traditional mechanical buttons. With the functional integration in infotainment modules, buttons can be programmed to match driver preferences. Capacitive sensing provides important value by adding another functional layer as simple as button function preview or proximity detection as described in the proximity sensing section below.

Button functions can range from radio station presets, saved playlists, and phone number speed dials, to favorite destinations in navigation systems. Capacitive touch can also be used as a redundancy safety feature to detect a stuck-switch failure mode for function-critical mechanical switches such as an ESC (Electronic Stability Control) Off switch.

Button Replacement

Button replacement is the full implementation of capacitive touch buttons with the removal of all mechanical components from the module switch panel as shown in Figure 2. Capacitive sensing, in this case, provides freedom of design by removing restrictions imposed by mechanical designs such as curvatures, overlay material, and most importantly, manufacturability of complex designs.

Proximity sensing can also be integrated to provide a higher level of integration by disabling controls or turning off panel backlighting until proximity is detected, at which point the system wakes up and returns to full operation. Another value is the added system reliability provided by the elimination of mechanical components which can fail over time and the ability to use a single-piece panel design that provides a sealed design against elements found in the passenger cabin (i.e., all liquids and particles such as dust). Button replacement does pose new design challenges, however, as it can be overcome. Mechanical buttons provide tactile feedback while capacitive touch-based designs rely on feedback from other human sensory inputs such as vision (LED button status) and hearing (buzzer).

Touchscreen and Touchpads

Although visually similar to capacitive touchscreens, resistive touchscreens still have mechanical properties resistive touchscreens are based on pressure detection rather than touch sensing which affect their durability and performance in automotive environments and over the life of the vehicle. Capacitive touchscreens will gain traction in new infotainment systems due to their durability over time and across the automotive temperature range as well as their resistance to scratches and higher transparency versus resistive touchscreens. As higher transparency is directly correlated to system power consumption since it requires lower backlighting intensity, this in turn reduces overall power consumption in systems where power management is highly complex due to the tight packaging and location of the electronic modules. Figure 3 shows an example implementation of a navigation unit with capacitive touch pads embedded in the bezel.

For center stack designs utilizing a mechanical input controller (joystick-like controller) rather than a touchscreen, touchpads offer, in addition to conventional menu control (similar to a laptop touchpad), extended features such as handwriting recognition and all the advantages a touch sense device offers compared to a mechanical design.

Proximity Sensing

Proximity sensing goes beyond button enhancement and button replacement. With proximity sensing, buttons can be completely removed, giving way to full design flexibility and module packaging as well as increased reliability. Proximity sensing applications are mainly tied to illumination control and can be implemented in dome light assemblies (see Figure 4), door pocket lighting applications, and storage compartments. User detection is another proximity sensing application when implemented in the door handle (passive keyless entry) and in the vehicle center stack (to detect whether the driver or passenger is reaching for the controls and to customize button functions accordingly.)

Conclusion

With the single concept of capacitive sensing, HMI designs will be re-invented without being limited by the constraints previously set by mechanical components. Time will tell how quickly and widely Tier 1 and OEM will adopt this technology, but seeing the traction capacitive sensing made in the consumer market, many car enthusiasts hope the process will be quick and across all major automotive platforms.
